Textbooks
During each school year, Moore County Schools will adopt new textbooks and instructional materials in one or more subject areas. These adoptions are on a six-year cycle as directed by the Tennessee Department of Education. The State Textbook and Instructional Materials Quality Commission formulates the recommended textbook list in its October meeting and sends it to the State Board of Education for their consideration. Once the State Board of Education has approved a list of textbooks and instructional materials, districts follow procedures as set by the state to adopt these materials. According to the state guidelines, school districts must adopt textbooks and instructional materials but do not have to purchase.
